Meet Richard Foote, DMD, MD

Dr. Foote grew up in Reno, Nevada. He completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. He then attended the UNLV School of Dental Medicine in Las Vegas where he earned his DMD. There he trained in all aspects of dentistry, but developed a passion for oral surgery.
He and his family then moved to Los Angeles for the next phase of his training. He earned his MD at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, and completed a general surgery internship at the LA General Medical Center. He enjoyed collaborating with other medical specialties and operating with other surgical specialties including plastic surgery, trauma surgery, otolaryngology-head & neck surgery, and general surgery.
He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the LA General Medical Center, Keck Hospital of USC, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. He trained extensively in extraction of teeth, dental implants, IV sedation, corrective jaw surgery, cleft and craniofacial surgery, facial trauma, and facial reconstructive surgery.
During their time in LA, he and his family grew to love Southern California. Dr. Foote is so happy to be living and practicing in San Marcos. He enjoys being outdoors and exploring parks, hiking trails, and beaches with his wife and children. He also enjoys cycling and playing golf.
